My name is Matthew Cordova and I'm from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I received a BA in Education from New Mexico Highlands University. I am currently self-employed and my work is called "Writographer Mattman" I love doing everything from writing, photography, to art, 90% of my work is all done digitally. The type of writing I am getting into is writing quotes, positive sayings, and short stories. The photography I am into is everything that is around us because there is so much beauty in this world all around us, so need to capture that moment before it's gone forever. The art I am getting into is everything from landscapes, skies, people, and nature in general.
Matthew's Artist Statement:
My artwork takes views of our everyday lives. My art often is referenced by events throughout my life and history. My artwork explores the varying relationships between everyday life to fantasy life. While I use a variety of digital materials for each of my projects each one comes out different because I observe life different each and every day like each of my artwork. Digital artwork is the future and that is where my calling is because it's easier for me to take it on the go and capture a moment in time that I will never see again.
Why Matthew participated in ABQ Up With Paint:
This is all new for me and I am new to the art field and I wanted to share my work with the world and starting here in New Mexico. I want to start a career in art so this may be a start of taking off. You never know.
